Amy joined SMPS in 2015 when she took on a role in marketing, although she’s known about SMPS during her earlier career doing graphic design for AEC firms. She’s been involved SMPS CT as a volunteer, mentor, and on the DEI task force with Alicia Washington.
Hands down, her favorite things about SMPS are the connections and network she’s built. She attributes SMPS with broadening her circle of colleagues, friends and resources locally and nationally through various chapters and conferences like The Pinnacle Experience. She finds it rewarding to see where these relationships connect and intersect and reconnect in other places. As a people person, she loves when a quick introduction turns into an exciting opportunity and later becomes a long-term relationship.
Amy was honored to receive this year’s PWC CT Volunteer of the Year award. She’s currently a PWC Board member, the Communications Chair and a Programs volunteer, and has been involved for the last four years. As someone who likes getting involved and giving back, she’s belonged to professional organizations most of her career and feels strongly that we need to continue to create opportunities for younger professionals to want to get involved, mentoring them to carry the organizations into the future.
Amy’s currently transitioning to her next great role, utilizing her network to interview and stay connected. Follow her on LinkedIn to find out where she lands next.
