There is often an assumption that the first person in, the last person out, or the one answering emails the fastest is the most dedicated. But the reality is that everyone works differently, and everyone's life outside of work looks different too.
Some people are balancing caregiving responsibilities. Others are managing personal commitments or simply do their best work at different times of the day.
What if we focused less on when people are working and more on the value they bring?
Inclusion often shows up in small ways, like being thoughtful about meeting times, avoiding assumptions about availability, and allowing flexibility when possible. As you go through the week, consider whether there are assumptions we make about work schedules or responsiveness that may no longer serve us. Sometimes inclusion is simply recognizing that professionalism doesn't have to look the same for everyone.
