Hello everyone,
Can you believe we’re already halfway through the 2021/2022 program year!
Our chapter has been busy over the last six months – from participating on panels for industry conferences, launching our new website, developing collaborating sponsor opportunities, implementing a new member on-boarding process, to launching our new Mentorship Cohort Coffee Meetups – we’ve been creating more and more opportunities for you to connect, learn, and showcase your expertise.
We’re not slowing down! SMPS Connecticut is currently holding a week dedicated to all things CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketers)! We just launched our first ever CPSM Scholarship and are forming study groups to support those pursuing their CPSM certification. If you are interested in learning more about the scholarship or joining a study group, please reach out to our Education Committee.
Our Programs Committee is currently hard at work planning our first in-person events since 2019! Stay tuned and keep checking our events page for more information. We are excited and looking forward to connecting with you all in-person! We will continue to offer our monthly education workshops virtually – our workshops are free for all SMPS members and students!
We also acknowledge that there is still much work to be done in our industry to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and this month we launched a DEI Three-Part Series led by Marcia Alvarado, PE. This three-part workshop is tailored for team members at all levels that are looking to take meaningful action and create a positive work environment for everyone. I hope you can join us for the next two sessions scheduled for March 2nd and April 6th!
With college career fair season here, our Job Bank is offering free internship postings to help firms find their next interns. SMPS Connecticut is also committed to helping students find their path in the A/E/C industry and will be participating in the University of Hartford’s Career Days with our webinar “Pathways in the A/E/C Industry: Marketing, Business Development and Beyond” available to students. Learn more about all the opportunities and benefits we provide to students.
Thank you to all SMPS Connecticut members and volunteers who have committed their time and expertise to our chapter over the last six months to propel our initiatives forward. Our chapter wouldn’t be where it is without your dedication and hard work. If you’re interested in volunteering with us check out our committees page for volunteer opportunities and descriptions.
Make sure to check our social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) and our Wednesdays are for SMPS CT emails (keep an eye on your inbox the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month!) for more exciting announcements. No matter your experience-level, role, or status in the A/E/C industry, we are looking forward to you becoming a part of the SMPS Connecticut community! Join our community of marketers, business developers, technical professionals, students, business owners and principals, and get involved: become a member, join a committee, lead a program, join the mentorship cohort, or attend an event.
Thank you!
