Hello SMPS CT!
We’re already halfway through the 2022-2023 program year, and we have a lot of exciting news on the horizon.
SMPS CT has been very busy over the last six months, creating new opportunities for our members to connect, learn, and grow. We started off the year with our 2nd annual Win More Work summit, and have held several successful educational programs ranging in topics from Recession Proofing Your Marketing Department to Powerful Proofreading. We just wrapped up our annual CPSM week, where we celebrated our newest CPSMs, shared information about our chapter study groups, and even held a program with SMPS Headquarters to learn all about the new changes coming to the exam this year!
Speaking of the CPSM program – our next round of study groups will begin soon! If you are interested in joining our groups or just want to know more about the credential, please reach out to our education committee at [email protected] ! As a CPSM, I can tell you first hand how much the Connecticut Chapter study groups helped me prepare for the exam. I don’t know that I would have been as successful without the guidance of our domain champions or my fellow CPSM candidates.
While we’ve accomplished a lot - we aren’t slowing down yet! We have a bunch of really exciting programs coming up next month. On March 8th, we’re hosting a virtual educational workshop all about the Art of Winning Interviews and on March 29th, we’re hosting an in-person Business Development Bootcamp. We’re confident both sessions will help give you the tools to win more work. Stay tuned for information on other exciting events coming up – like our April 5th Project Tour of the highly sustainable and state-of-the-art new New Canaan Library and our Marketing Communications Awards Call for Entries!
I want to give a special shout out to all SMPS Connecticut members and volunteers who have committed their time and expertise to our chapter over the last six months to propel our initiatives forward. Our chapter wouldn’t be where it is without their dedication and hard work. If you’re interested in volunteering with us check out our committees page for volunteer opportunities and descriptions. Getting involved with SMPS is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without the experience, knowledge, and connections I’ve made through SMPS.
Make sure to check our social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) and our Wednesdays are for SMPS CT emails for more exciting announcements. No matter your experience-level, role, or status in the A/E/C industry, we welcome you to becoming a part of the SMPS Connecticut community! Join our community of marketers, business developers, technical professionals, students, business owners and principals, and get involved: become a member, join a committee, lead a program, join the mentorship cohort, or attend an event.
