Balancing the Conversation | Think back to your last meeting, who led the conversation? Who jumped in? And who didn’t get to contribute? It happens more than we realize, but just being aware can make all the difference. Creating an inclusive space can be as simple as pausing to let someone finish, or saying, “Hey, what do you think?” to a teammate who hasn’t had a chance to share. Those small moments help everyone feel seen and heard and that’s when the best ideas start flowing. Inclusion isn’t about everyone talking the same amount but it’s about making sure no one leaves feeling overlooked. So, try this at your next meeting: Create more pauses or ask a teammate directly for their thoughts. It shows you value their perspective and helps balance the conversation.
