Today’s DEI moment is about assuming positive intent. Our days move fast and it is easy to read a quick comment or email in the wrong way. Most of the time people are not trying to be short or dismissive. They are just busy or focused on something else.
When we pause and give others the benefit of the doubt, it takes the pressure out of the moment and makes it easier to understand what they were actually trying to say. It also helps us respond in a calmer and more grounded way.
Weekly challenge:
Before you react to something this week, take a breath and ask yourself, “What if they meant this in the best way?” It is a small shift that can lead to better conversations and better teamwork.
