December is often associated with giving—but in the context of diversity, equity, and inclusion, giving goes far beyond gifts. It’s about offering our attention, empathy, and care in ways that help others feel truly seen.
People experience this season differently. For some, it’s joyful; for others, it can be stressful, isolating, or financially challenging. A small act of generosity—checking in on a colleague, offering flexibility, expressing genuine appreciation, or simply acknowledging someone’s efforts—can make a meaningful impact.
Inclusive giving means recognizing that each person’s needs and experiences are unique. It invites us to ask: Who around me might feel unseen? Who might benefit from support, recognition, or encouragement? When we approach others with curiosity and compassion, we create a culture where everyone feels valued.
As we close out the year, let’s remember that giving isn’t measured by size but by intention. Every act of care strengthens our community and reinforces a sense of belonging for all.
